We are looking for an Senior NDT Engineer to join our nationwide team with a base in Salford.

What will I be doing?

In its simplest and most explicit form, industrial safety can be a matter of life or death. As a Senior NDT Engineer for BES Group, you will be helping to make a safer place for industry, businesses and for people whenever and wherever, in this role you will carry out a range of NDT inspections to ensure compliance with statutory and/or legislative requirements, making sure you follow all relevant procedures.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing NDT operations and manage a team NDT Engineers
• Writing and reviewing NDT procedures
• Visiting sites and completing quotes for customers
• Responsibility for maintaining quality system and UKAS accreditation 
• Responsibility for auditing Level 2 Engineers
• Providing training and upskilling for career progression within the team
• Supporting the team with process improvement
• Carrying out inspections and interpreting test results in accordance with relevant procedures and to the required standard
• Carrying out all relevant equipment checks and calibrations as required by the standard or test procedures
• Collecting reports with sketches, where applicable, the result of the NDT examination in a factual, comprehensive and unambiguous manner
• To maintain all records, standards, procedures, notes and log books in an orderly, efficient manner and have them for audit

What experience do I need?

Our team consists of the best, highly skilled and qualified NDT Engineers and we want our new recruits to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do.

You will need:

• A minimum NDT qualification must include PCN Level 3 in UT (Welds), MPI and DPI 
• A SAFed - BINDT Boiler Qualification would be advantageous 
• PCN Level 2 in Eddy Current would be desirable 
• Experience in managing a team, supporting with training and completing audits
• Experience of reviewing procedures and reports
• Extensive experience of testing various weld geometries across a wide range of equipment and industries
• Ability to use their initiative whilst working on site and support others in maintaining the highest level of H&S awareness
• Flexibility to work both on client sites (UK and abroad) and in the laboratory
• Experience managing your own workload, and be happy working in an environment with changing priorities
• The ability to communicate technical problems with ease
• A good level of IT and literacy skills in order to complete detailed customer reports
